    Elixer Of Eternal Youth.

    Tuesday, November 8, 2011

In the summer of 2011, Matthew Ryan Sharp was contacted to handle the album artwork for local band: About Nothin’. Having never created work for an album cover, the artist cites this as a major personal accomplishment. The single off the album as well as the E.P. itself was going to be titled: Elixer Of Eternal Youth. The concept was to have a greasy, turn of the century – Snake Oil Salesman barking a bout a cure all tonic. The final illustration is located above…

All Dressed Up With No Place To Go – Fictional tales of chislers & ballyhoo on the American midway was the first exhibition from artist Matthew Ryan Sharp that had a total cohesive and uniform theme. Planned, designed and created over the span of a year, this was the artists first attempt at creating something more than just “pictures on walls”. This exhibition also marked the beginning relationship/creative partnership between Matthew Ryan Sharp and Midwestern Traveling Amusement.

All Dressed Up With No Place To Go.

    Friday, October 28, 2011

In May 2011, artist Matthew Ryan Sharp had his first solo exhibition in Chicago, IL. After exhibiting across the U.S…finally a show had been set up for home turf. Wanting to do something large scale and involved, the artist chose to approach OhNo!Doom Gallery since they held the perfect space. The concept of the exhibition was simple: tie together the similar elements of an art exhibition and carnival…create an environment and entertain the public visually.
